2011 Ovid Open House: Vinetum & Vinum (Vines & Wines)

Ovid opened its doors for the Vinetum & Vinum Customer Open House in the spring of 2011. Paella and 2007 Ovid Napa Valley and Experiment E0.4 were enjoyed by all. Our seminar featured winemaker Austin Peterson and Thibaut Schlolasch of Fruition Sciences, who spoke about the use of sap flow sensors in the Ovid vineyard. {read more}

Ovid’s Barrel one of top lots again at Premiere Napa Valley

Out of 200 special barrel lots made by Napa Valley wineries, our lot garnered the third highest price! It was purchased by Gary’s Marketplace of New Jersey and the immediate Underbidder was Meritage Wine Market of Encinitas, California. We thank all the attendees and bidders for their interest and enthusiasm about Ovid’s MMIX. This is the third year Ovid’s offering has placed in the top three lots at Premiere Napa Valley. {read more}

At Ovid, though our main focus is on our vineyards and winemaking, we also believe in biodiversity. Toward that end, we have a number of additional farming projects, including making olive oil from the olive trees in our landscaping, farming an orchard with a variety of fruit and nut trees, and keeping native bees. {read more}
